A Summary of PSYSC History

The Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC) is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government, and non-sectarian organization. It is the national federation of youth science clubs in the Philippines. It is former called the National Science Club of the Philippines formed by a group of science fair winners. In order to have a more inclusive organization with a wider coverage, it later on named as Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs, Inc.

The PSYSC collaborated with the Science Club Advisers Association of the Philippines (SCAAP) and the Philippine Association of Science and Math Supervisors (PASMS) and conducted activities that promote awareness and understanding of science, technology, and the environment.   3. Children’s Science Interactive Workshop (CSIW) – a science camp for elementary students filled with fun and science related activities

  • National Science Club Summit (SUMMIT) – a 2days-1night activity for high school students filled with lectures, workshops, team-building activities, and presentation of science clubs
  • PSYSC Science Olympiad (PSO) – a nationwide quiz show that competed by the students across the Philippines
  • I-Teach Science Seminar (ITSS) – an enrichment seminar for teachers on how to teach science in a fun an interactive way
  • Mathematics, Science, at Kapaligiran (MATH-SCI-A-KA) – a Luzon-wide event allotted for workshops and experiments for high school and elementary students from public and private schools then present their engineering projects for the Engineering Science Challenge
